Don’t throw those strings away from fresh corn!
Do you often throw away the string-like fibers from the end of corns when buy fresh corn? Well don’t! These fibers, also known as corn silk, can be made into a tea that comes with a variety of health benefits.
Corn silk tea is also a wonderful home remedy for kidney problems. It is highly effective in treating conditions including painful urination, urinary tract infection, bladder infection, inflammation of the urinary system, and kidney stones.
Corn silk tea is great for people with high blood pressure. It helps in reducing the levels of blood sugar by increasing insulin levels in the body. It is also an excellent natural treatment for congestive heart failure, diabetes, high cholesterol.
Making corn silk tea is easy.
Boil 1 tablespoon of corn silk (chopped) in 1 cup of water. Once it is done, cover the pan and allow it to steep for 15 to 20 minutes. When it is cool enough to drink, you can add 1 teaspoon of our popular honey.
