How to Spice Up Your Life with Handcrafted Spices in Kuwait
Hello, and welcome to my blog! I’m Patty, an American living in Kuwait, and I’m passionate about spices and herbs. In this blog, I’ll share with you how I use spices and herbs in my cooking, and how they can benefit your health and wellness.
I love to travel and explore different cuisines and cultures. I always bring back some spices and herbs from my trips and try to recreate the flavors in my own kitchen. I also like to experiment with different combinations and create my own spice blends. I use natural and handcrafted ingredients, with no additives, fillers, or preservatives. I believe that spices and herbs are not just for enhancing the taste of food, but also for promoting health and wellness. They are rich in phytonutrients that can help our body fight diseases, boost immunity, and improve digestion. Some of my favorite spices and herbs are: Turmeric: This is a bright yellow spice that has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-cancer properties. It can help with arthritis, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and skin problems. It also adds a warm and earthy flavor to curries, soups, rice, and tea. Rosemary: This is a fragrant herb that has antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties. It can help with memory, mood, stress, and hair growth. It also adds a piney and lemony flavor to meats, vegetables, breads, and sauces. Cinnamon: This is a sweet and spicy spice that has anti-diabetic, anti-microbial, and anti-inflammatory properties. It can help with blood sugar, cholesterol, digestion, and weight loss. It also adds a cozy and comforting flavor to desserts, drinks, oatmeal, and yogurt. Garlic: This is a pungent herb that has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, and anti-parasitic properties. It can help with infections, colds, flu, blood pressure, and heart health. It also adds a savory and zesty flavor to almost any dish. I use these spices and herbs in my cooking every day, to nourish my body and soul. I also sell them blended in unique combinations online through my website Infusions Kuwait, where you can find more products like sauces, spreads, pickles, teas, and more. All of them are made with natural and handcrafted ingredients. If you are looking for the best handcrafted spices in Kuwait, you will love my products that are made with love and care. You can order them online or find me at local seasonal markets or weekend pop-ups , where I also share recipes and tips on how to use spices and herbs in your cooking. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and learned something new about spices and herbs. Stay tuned for more posts where I’ll share more of my creations and inspirations. Until then, Happy spicing! 😊 Xoxo, Patty
7 Spices to use in 2018
After the holidays most of us are feeling guilty of overindulgence and have vowed that 2018 will be the year of good health. Many of us are devising a health plan for the year ahead by joining a gym, watching what foods we are eating, and promising to live life more holistic.
But before you start spending alot of money on vitamins, tonics, and super powders, try some natural and cheaper home remedies to get you feeling great again! Add them to your daily regimen as much as you can.
Spices are a cost effective way to easily give your body nutrients and minerals. Spices not only can take food from bland (which most healthy diet centers food does taste) to tasty and still make it healthy. The added bonus, some extraordinary added benefits for mental and physical health.
2017 was full of research into different kinds of herbs and spices that indicate they can contribute to overall health as much as fruits and vegetables providing antioxidants, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and antiviral benefits.
Keep in mind it is important to look at spices holistically and not as a miracle cures for everything but as one piece of the puzzle in creating long lasting health and wellness but changing your lifestyle. Spices and herbs are a very easy way to add value to your food intake and way cheaper than popping pills.
Stay tuned asInfusions informs throughout the year about all these fantastic spices and herbs and tidbits on how to incorporate them into your daily life. What are the super spices to concentrate on for 2018? Here are my top 7 choices:
Chilli
Turmeric
Ginger
Garlic

Don’t throw those strings away from fresh corn!
Do you often throw away the string-like fibers from the end of corns when buy fresh corn? Well don’t! These fibers, also known as corn silk, can be made into a tea that comes with a variety of health benefits.
Corn silk tea is also a wonderful home remedy for kidney problems. It is highly effective in treating conditions including painful urination, urinary tract infection, bladder infection, inflammation of the urinary system, and kidney stones.
Corn silk tea is great for people with high blood pressure. It helps in reducing the levels of blood sugar by increasing insulin levels in the body. It is also an excellent natural treatment for congestive heart failure, diabetes, high cholesterol.
Making corn silk tea is easy.
Boil 1 tablespoon of corn silk (chopped) in 1 cup of water. Once it is done, cover the pan and allow it to steep for 15 to 20 minutes. When it is cool enough to drink, you can add 1 teaspoon of our popular honey.
If you do a batch send me a pic! Have a great weekend.

Summer Reflections – November Aspirations
?As we welcome the 1st day of November, I remember that summer was amazing! How about yours?Where did you go? What did you see? Most importantly, WHAT DID YOU EAT?! Haha! The Infusions KW family roamed Turkey and it is honestly one of my favorite destinations I have ever been to (and we travel alot). So much to love about Turkey; the weather, the landscape, deep history, kind people, and tantalizing food all made such an impression on me. I learned about their most common spices and flavor palette while imdulging some cooking recipes. Turkey will definitely be my inspiration for Infusions this Fall season.
Just wanted to say a quick hello and highlight what’s coming up in November. If you haven’t done so already, please Sign up for our monthly newsletter.
?November’s newsletter marks our first of the new season after a long hiatus. We were reorganizing from within (including our admin queen welcoming a new bundle of joy), creating new spices, and revamping our website (thanks to our volunteer computer Jedi who also taught me how to use this WordPress thingy right now haha!). Alot of NEW exciting things coming your way this season!
The first of our recipe videos will be on YouTube this week! Press this link, please like and subscribe! My personal goals for November is to take advantage of the cool weather now in Kuwait (yes I live in Inferno in summer) and lead a more healthier lifestyle. Which includes more home prepped meals. I am offering 10% discount when you use code HEALTHY on my website.
Will be back later this week with some more yummy stuff and keep all of you updated.
God bless. Eat well. Play alot. Love yourself. Live long.

For You Daddy
Since opening this website is a new phase in my life on #this_infusions_journey, I see it only fit to pay tribute to the one (besides The Almighty Creator) that stood by me through all storms and lead me to the nearest shore. Unfortunately, he is not here now to share this success story of my first website/blog. A platform I will use to reach out and share what information I have about healing and getting back into the kitchen using all the natural wonders around us. I wrote this in the late night and it will probably be the prologue to anything else I do with Infusions KW. Never the less, I let it go here on this blog…and now I can go on.
Dedicated to my late father Terrence Richard Marotte who taught me all I needed to know about life and the kitchen. The best memories of my childhood were the ones by his side learning the basics such as cutting, marinating, and mixing. Since I can remember I was always watching and listening him do his “thing” in the kitchen. By the time I was 13 years old (my eldest daughter’s age now), I was proudly able to produce an entire Thanksgiving dinner or 5 course Thai cuisine themed dinner. The kitchen was our church and the table our altar. The kitchen was only place in our home that was relaxed and not plagued with domestic violence or the echoed stresses of daily life. The table is where could talk about the day’s events or gossip of the neighborhood. Talks of aspiration were allowed, but we could not discuss politics nor religion (that was something we did as he lit up his pipe on the front porch at night). Under absolutely no circumstances could we complain of our “in house” situation (my mother was a substance abuser and a gambler). So every meal was full of talks about hopes, dreams, and happy things. Something I am proud to have continued with my children on our table daily. So while most of my generation were serving up frozen TV dinners and microwavable hot pockets, I was learning how to make a proper roux base for any cream sauce and using mirepoix in stews. I learned the importance of fresh ingredients and using what was in season. He was my inspiration, my rock, and my best friend. Since he left this Earth too soon, it is with my cooking and these very creations you see on the website that I find my solace in this Life.
